Teddy Bear Hospital at Families First
A group of undergraduate Penn students with majoring in health related fields came to our center on December 11th. They set up a mock hospital for our preschoolers. All of the children brought in their sick and injured stuffed animals or dolls from home.
The children were the “concerned parents” taking their “children” to the hospital. There was a waiting room, triage area, radiologist and pharmacy. The students taught them about issues such as safety at home and dental care. They had their stuffed animals x-rayed, bandaged, weighed, measured and medicated. All of the preschoolers received a certificate of bravery. The event was a huge success, and we send a big ‘thank you’ to the Penn students!
