The Wynnewood Center provides high quality Preschool, Kindergarten Enrichment and School Age Care for Virtual Learners grades K-5 as well as before and after school programming.
Our Preschool program implements Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum and follows an age-appropriate, project based lesson plan. This curriculum also provides teachers with an observation tool so they can fully support each child’s individual learning and communicate any successes and challenges with parents. Daily activities include reading, circle time, outdoor play, and hands-on educational activities that create a balance of learning and play for students. The center also utilizes the Second Step Social/Emotional Curriculum, which helps children better understand, manage, and express emotions and empathy, develop positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
School Age Programs
Our School-Age Care for Virtual Learners program provides academic support and a 1:12 teacher student ratio and offers ample space for social distancing. Additionally, to help keep our children, staff and families safe, Wonderspring has implemented health and safety policies and procedures that align with CDC guidelines. Children who attend before and after school hours receive homework assistance, recreational and enrichment activities, breakfast and a snack. Before and after school hours we also provide engaging, educational experiences, interest-based clubs and other age-appropriate activities throughout the school year. The Before Care program begins at 7 a.m. and runs until the school day begins, and the After Care program continues from school dismissal until 6 p.m.
Our Kindergarten Enrichment program complements a child’s half-day kindergarten program and encourages exploration and discovery while enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.
In all of our school-age programming we utilize positive behavior support with our curriculum to help students maximize their ability to learn, minimize program distractions, and foster positive relationships among peers.
