The center offers high-quality early education and care to children ages six weeks through five years with infant, toddler and preschool programs. Daycare begins at 7:00 a.m. and extends through 5:30 p.m. Each day at Wonderspring, you can expect that your child will walk into a happy and safe environment led by our highly qualified, energetic and friendly teachers.
Evidence-Based Curriculum
Research shows that that 84% of brain development occurs between birth and five years old. To support early learning, Wonderspring Powelton Village implements Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum and follows an age-appropriate, project based lesson plan. Daily activities include reading, circle time, outdoor play, and hands-on educational activities that create a balance of learning and play for students. This curriculum helps teachers to fully support each child’s individual learning and communicate any successes and challenges with parents. The center also utilizes the Second Step Social/Emotional Curriculum, which helps children better understand, manage, and express emotions and empathy, develop positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Tuition-free PreK
Through partnerships with PHLpreK and Pre-K Counts, the Powelton Village Center provides tuition-free preschool to ensure kindergarten readiness for every child. We also accept ELRC subsidy for all of our programs.
