Ann O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer
Ann O’Brien is the Chief Executive Officer of Wonderspring. Ms. O’Brien has extensive knowledge and experience in organizational development, early childhood education, management and nonprofits. In her role as CEO, she is focused on growing both the direct services aspects of the organization as well as Professional Development Dimensions, which provides technical assistance and professional development to early childhood and school age programs throughout the region.
Prior to Wonderspring, Ms. O’Brien was the Senior Vice President of Community Impact for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. In that role, Ms. O’Brien led the regional Impact agenda and oversaw the investment of $20m annually into the community. Additionally, she led the creation and launch of the region’s Success by 6® school readiness initiative. This initiative assessed the tools and resources needed to develop quality early childhood centers. Today, hundreds of Philadelphia area early childhood centers have advanced through the Keystone STARS programs through this initiative.
Ms. O’Brien also serves on the Philadelphia Mayor’s Early Learning Advisory Council, which brings together city, state, and school district representatives along with key nonprofit and philanthropic partners to serve as the mayor’s voice for quality pre-k and school preparedness. She also serves as a Board Member of Pennsylvania Childcare Association (PACCA) and Early Care and Education Consortium. Ms. O’Brien holds an MBA from La Salle University and a MSS/MLSP from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.
